Six prominent Republican leaders will be participating in the 2015 New Hampshire Education Summit on Wednesday to discuss the current and future state of K-12 education. The event will be hosted by The Seventy Four’s Campbell Brown and highlights will be shared on social media platforms such as Facebook, Twitter, Medium, and Snapchat at the_74.

If you want to watch the discussion live, you can stream it on YouTube here starting at 8:50 a.m. on Wednesday. Just click on the video to start the stream.

In preparation for this event, we have been gathering information and summarizing the education platforms of the speakers. We have also created "baseball cards" summarizing the education stances of all current presidential candidates. Here are the key K-12 issues that are likely to garner attention at Wednesday’s unique summit:

1. Jeb Bush and his support for Common Core:

Jeb Bush, along with John Kasich, is one of two GOP candidates who support the Common Core. He has defended his K-12 record and his endorsement of the Core during the first debate. As governor of Florida, he implemented high standards, school choice, and accountability measures that resulted in improved student achievement.

2. Chris Christie and his stance on teachers unions:

Chris Christie is well-known for his conflicts with teachers unions. He has made critical remarks about the American Federation of Teachers, describing them as a destructive force in public education. Despite facing opposition, he remains firm in his views on unions and their impact on education.

3. Carly Fiorina and her views on No Child Left Behind:

Carly Fiorina has been vocal about her opposition to Common Core and her support for changes in the No Child Left Behind Act. She believes that power should be given back to the states and that federal standards like Common Core should be abolished. She supports efforts to promote equal opportunity and provide low-income students the ability to transfer federal funds between school districts.

4. Bobby Jindal and his lawsuits against standards:

Bobby Jindal has implemented education reforms in Louisiana, including expanding vouchers and changing teacher tenure laws. He is an opponent of Common Core and even sued the federal Education Department and Secretary Arne Duncan over it. Jindal maintains that the rebellion against mandated testing is led by parents from various backgrounds and political affiliations. He believes that parents should have a say in education policies.

5. John Kasich and his support for equal funding:

John Kasich, like Jeb Bush, supports the Common Core. However, a noteworthy topic for him is equal funding for education. He believes in providing fair funding for all schools to ensure every student has the opportunity for a quality education.

These five topics are expected to generate significant interest and discussion at the education summit. Follow our full reports for more information on each candidate and their education platforms.

"It is a conservative standpoint that it is crucial for every child to have the opportunity to prosper," he expressed. "I don’t perceive it as a form of wealth redistribution… Rather, I see it as a method to ensure that resources are directed towards the well-being of children."

6. Scott Walker and Educational Vouchers

The most recent fiscal plan authorized by Governor Walker of Wisconsin expands the state’s educational voucher program, removing the limit of 1,000 students at a statewide level and implementing a specific percentage of students in each district, with this figure set to increase annually. In the past, he has referred to vouchers as a "moral obligation."

"We have determined once and for all that this is not a matter of political affiliation, but a matter of national importance… In my view, every child in this nation should have the opportunity to receive a high-quality education. This is not just a moral obligation for me… It is also an economic necessity, as we cannot afford to have individuals sidelined."
